Are Shower Niches A Good Idea?
Shower niches are becoming a popular feature in bathrooms, and for good reason. Most of the time, we incorporate shower niches in our bathroom reno projects. Really great for organizing your space and storing shower essentials like soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Here are some reasons why shower niches are beneficial.
- They maximize space. With a built-in niche, you don’t have to worry about bulky shower caddies or hanging organizers.
- Perfect for smaller spaces. A niche is built directly into the wall, creating a clean, seamless look while freeing up valuable shower space. In smaller bathrooms, every inch counts so a niche is perfect!
- Niches enhance functionality. Shower niches are custom-designed to fit your needs, with lots of size options. You can choose the size, depth, and layout that works best for you. Whether it’s a small nook for soap or a larger shelf for multiple bottles, a niche can be tailored to fit your exact specifications.
- Shower niches can look really modern and beautiful. You can have fun with the tiles and patterns.
Types of Niches
There are two commonly used shower niches – custom and pre-fabricated. A custom niche is built from scratch by constructing a framed box within the wall. Wallboard is then installed on all surfaces of the framed box and covered with a waterproofing membrane.
Shower niches are not just a space-saver—they improve your bathroom’s functionality and aesthetic, making them a smart choice for any home. Hope you were inspired by these shower niche ideas!
