Michael Holmes Jr. is a licensed contractor, passionate woodworker, television host, keynote speaker, brand ambassador and social media influencer . He received the education of a lifetime by working alongside his father, Mike Holmes, as a crew member on the hit TV show Holmes on Holmes®.
Since then, Michael has been a permanent crew member on Holmes in New Orleans, Holmes Inspection, Holmes Makes it Right and Mike’s Ultimate Garage. In Mike’s Ultimate Garage, Michael was given the ultimate challenge when Mike Sr. offered him to lead in building his state-of-the-art garage. Michael continued to shine as a leader, matching wits and skills with his father on HOLMES and HOLMES.

The latest series, Holmes Family Rescue, is about what the Holmes’ do best – rescuing homeowners who are suffering from botched construction jobs or are experiencing renovation fatigue. With the huge success of season one, season two is airing now on HGTV US, with more new episodes in 2024.
Canadian fans can watch Holmes Family Rescue Season 2, starting in January 2024 on CTV Life, CTV.CA and Crave.
Michael is currently in production on the brand-new series for Blue Ant Media with his dad and sister; Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy. The series will air on Cottage Life later this year.

How we handle them is more important. I made a mistake on the layout but caught it early on as we were installing Postech Screw Piles. Had I not caught this, it would have thrown my entire layout out of whack because this was the line I was squaring off of.
This is one of the reasons I love using helical piles from Postech Screw Piles. Had this been a concrete footing that I dug, this would have taken hours to resolve instead of 5 minutes.

Custom hung doors are always the way to go. Hang your hinge side first, sink a 3” screw in each hinge driving into the frame, shimming where necessary so it’s plumb. Then continue to shim and nail the jamb to the frame around the door so you have consistent reveals.
Pro tip is to try and hide extra nails and fasteners behind yours door stop so you have less filling and sanding.
