CANADA’S HANDYMAN CHALLENGE
Canada’s Handyman Challenge pits competitors against each other in a series of challenges meant to test their speed, expertise and precision.
Contestants must complete tasks such as tiling a section of flooring, repairing a roof, or identifying a tool. Judges also evaluate their knowledge in question segments to test their knowledge of building codes, materials, and common measurements.

Cottage season is finally here—but before you kick back, there’s work to do.
I’ve seen too many cottages open up to hidden problems—clogged eavestroughs, rodent damage, moisture, even electrical issues. These aren’t small things—they can turn into big, expensive repairs if you ignore them.
That’s why I always say: take the time to open your cottage the right way. Clean your gutters, check for unwanted guests, test your air quality, and make sure your electrical and deck are safe before you enjoy the season.
Do it right. Make it safe.

On one job I took on, we found out that a newly built house was sitting on a crumbling, substandard foundation. Testing revealed that the concrete strength is only about one-third of what building code requires, meaning the structure is dangerously compromised. Disaster!
