SHERRY'S STORY

Contractor, TV Host and DIY Enthusiast

Sherry Holmes, is a contractor, TV host, keynote speaker, brand ambassador, social media influencer, and ambassador for women in the skilled trades. Her dad is celebrity contractor, Mike Holmes, so construction is in her blood. She started behind the scenes on Mike’s breakout series, Holmes on Homes® and became a permanent crew member when she joined her dad and brother on Holmes in New Orleans.

Sherry’s style, personality and talent continue to shine as co-host on, Holmes Family Effect on CTV and Fox and Holmes Family Rescue on HGTV US and CTV Life Channel and available for streaming on CRAVE. Season 2 of Holmes Family Rescue is airing now on HGTV US with more episodes in 2024.

Production has started on a brand new series for the free streaming channel HomefulTV, in collaboration with Blue Ant Media, Holmes on Homes: Building A Legacy, and will air on Cottage Life later in 2024. Plus, watch all the classic Holmes fan favourites on HomefulTV too!

Sherry is also thrilled to be an official Meagan Bebenek Foundation ambassador and spokesperson. The Meagan Bebenek Foundation raises awareness and funds for paediatric brain tumour research, and Sherry will be participating in the 23rd Annual Meagan’s HUG & 5KM WALK on Saturday, May 11th, 2024.

“If you’re thinking about getting into the trades, go for it! If it’s your passion learn as much as you can. It might be harder than you think to make your mark, but I promise you it will be worth it. It just might change your life”

Now a working mom with two little girls, Sherry continues to lend her support and social media presence to youth and young women wanting to get into the trades with Skills Canada, SkillsUSA and World Skills and mentorship programs like Conestoga College’s Jill of All Trades and WIST (Women in Skilled Trades). Sherry advocates for change, equality and diversity in the face of Canada’s skilled trades workforce, demonstrating that women can bring an entirely new dimension to the construction industry that makes it fundamentally stronger from the ground up.
