I started my career in the construction industry over 40 years, and I remember parents telling their kids at that time not to get into the construction industry. The dads I met who were in construction were telling their kids the job is hard on the body, the hours are too long, you never get a break. Then schools started pulling out trade classes. When I was in school, I took welding, sheet metal, carpentry, all good things to learn. Now I don’t hear much about these programs offered in school, and I am talking about Grade 6, 7 not high school.
