Holmes On Homes: Building a Legacy Season S2

Episode 1: Building Home Base

Mike Holmes and his kids Michael and Sherry have been brought in to help Helga and Jonathan fulfill their dream of creating a wide open, highly functional family home-base that can keep ups with the childcare needs and work-from-home demands they’re now facing.

Thinking they were entering the next phase in their marriage, Helga and Jonathan’s “Empty Nest” period was cut short when multiple divorces, rising housing costs and changes in employment lead to their grown children and grandkids needing to be much closer to home than expected. Determined to transform their house into the highly functional family home-base they need, Helga and Jonathan are hopeful Mike Holmes and his kids Michael and Sherry can help fulfill their dream.

Re-engineering and removing many of the intrusive walls that make the main floor so divided, the Holmes family create clear sightlines to the newly reinvented dining room, kitchen and grandkids play area, while also caring for those working from home. Helga and Jonathan are thrilled with the results!
