Episode 2: Fighting Future Floods
Mike Holmes and his kids Michael and Sherry have been brought in to help Justine and Luc, not only rebuild after a devastating flash flood, but also create a flood management system that will protect their beloved home from inevitable repeat climate events.
Six weeks after welcoming their baby daughter, Luc and Justine’s whole world changed when they received months worth of rain in a single afternoon. With their garage located at the bottom of a slope, with direct access to the basement, a swimming pool’s worth of water had a direct path to their lower level door. The garage filled up with such force it blew the door to the house wide open – filling the entire lower level with over five feet of water.
Fortunately, for them, their neighbours had a portable pump, and within a day they had the water cleared from the basement. But with the lower level completely waterlogged and conditions perfect for mold, it was clear this house wasn’t fit for living in, forcing this family to pack what they could and move in with Justine’s parents.
With limited insurance money to help them, Luke took on the task of demoing the basement himself – removing all the drywall, carpet and insulation. As gutted as their basement, Luc and Justine are now in way over their heads, completely overwhelmed and unsure of how they can possibly move forward to reclaim this vital living space. Adding to the fear and frustration around the repairs, is the ever-looming anxiety of future floods, threatening to put them through this all over again.
With decades of helping hard-hit families out of disastrous dilemmas, Mike Holmes and his kids Michael and Sherry are calling on their vast experience to build this basement back, better than it was, using the latest tools and technologies to redirect water and protect against future damage, when climate events like this inevitably happen again.

Terrified that their family’s legacy could burn to the ground, Melissa and her parents Steve and Angela are desperate for the Holmes Family to rid their aging bungalow of its hazardous electrical, while overhauling their overstuffed, under-utilized basement into the bright, functional living space Melissa deserves.
Episode 4: Lifted Up
After a gruelling two-year search, Andrea and Fred are ready to renovate their bungalow into a fully accessible home for their wheelchair-bound son. But with their family’s safety and future on the line, they need experts they can trust. Mike, Sherry and Michael are stepping in to ensure this vital renovation delivers the independence, dignity, and immeasurable peace of mind this family deserves.
Episode 5: Generations of Care
Nancy and Rohan want to turn part of their aging bungalow into a safe haven for their elderly loved ones—but with a failing boiler, outdated plumbing, disconnected extensions, and a full-blown squirrel infestation, the space is far from ready. Now it’s up to the Holmes family to transform chaos into comfort, to deliver a safe, functional “seniors wing” that will keep Nancy’s Mom and Aunt closer than ever.
Episode 6: Kitchen Comeback
After losing tens of thousands when a contractor took 80% upfront then went bankrupt, Kristen and Brian need help. Mike Holmes lets his contractor kids, Michael and Sherry, lead the charge to build the dream kitchen and restore the couple’s faith in builders.
Episode 7: Room to Flow
After 15 years of fighting a dysfunctional layout, Vangie and Joe are desperate to open up their cramped main floor before grandkids arrive. A set of poorly planned “closets” has stolen their home’s heart – cutting off the kitchen, dining, and living spaces from one another. To make things right, it’ll take serious structural work and expert guidance to safely remove the problem at the core. As a grandfather himself, Mike knows how vital an open, family-friendly layout is for this couple’s exciting new chapter, and he, Sherry and Michael are ready to make it right.

After a painful divorce, Jackie poured everything into building a fresh start for her kids – a new town, a new trade, and a renovated house she thought was their dream home. But when a broken piece of siding revealed gaping holes and shoddy cover-ups, that dream quickly became a nightmare. Jackie turns to Mike Holmes and his family for help.
