During the holidays we like to use candles more frequently and tend to cook a lot more. This is why you should inspect every smoke detector in your house to make sure it is in proper condition and replacing the batteries if needed. The same goes for carbon monoxide detectors. Remind yourself to do this on the first of every month and you’ll be glad that you did. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

On tonight's episode of #HolmesAndHolmes, we are tackling a very challenging project. Not only is there a lot of clutter collected over the years, but the homeowner also had terrible luck with the contractors and handymen she hired. Pretty much all projects in her house were done twice, and they STILL weren't done properly. She's got doors with no insulation, a fence that is barely in the ground (easiest fence demo btw) and leaky windows. We are going to make this a home again for her, so she can entertain and feel normal again. Tonight at 9pm on the DIY Network.
