HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Holmes family is one competitive family! In this “Holmes for the Holidays” special, Sherry challenges her brother, Michael and her father, Mike to a competition. The goal is to see who is best at decorating their home for Christmas — in just one week! The whole family joins in and everyone pulls out all the stops. Each house is decorated in a unique theme and there are surprises along the way. May the best Holmes win!

One thing I’ve learned after decades in this business—a healthy home starts with healthy air.
There are a few reasons I don't like to see tile over tile. Tile needs a solid, clean, properly prepared surface to bond to. Old tile can be slick, glazed, or contaminated, which means the new tile may not adhere properly. Adding another layer of tile can overload floors or walls that weren’t designed for it — especially in older homes. That means cracks, movement, or long-term structural issues.
Exterior waterproofing is really the only way to guarantee the basement will stay dry for the long term.
You will want to wrap your foundation in a waterproof membrane. Usually, a black tar or asphalt compound will be painted on your concrete foundation. This is covered by a waterproof mastic coating, a mesh coating, and finally another layer of mastic coating. This is to keep water vapor from seeping through the concrete foundation.
You can use a Polyurethane injection to fill in the smaller cracks and keep moisture from coming through those cracks.

Working with my kids is one of the things I’m most proud of.
