I'm going to do my best to answer all your questions about the High Park build--that's what I want to talk about tonight because I'm so proud of what we did on that job.
I'm glad to take a break today to talk to you all. We're shooting the show opening for my new series Holmes Makes it Right. It's launching in early October--in both Canada and the US on HGTV. It's been an intense summer--the crew and have all been out in this record-breaking heat doing renovation rescues like you've never seen.
I'm glad to do this chat in support of code officials and everyone who cares about safety. Whether it's construction safety, or safety in the home--or what's really close to my heart--building houses that are safe and strong and will last, building safety matters.
Before we get started, I want to share something with you that I read on the plane. I'm not going to lie--it got me angry....
We're on location in Stoney Creek ON for an episode of my new series: Holmes Makes it Right. It's set to air on HGTV in the fall. I'm back on the job and I'm not going to lie--it's hard work being a contractor again! Just like old times.
Thanks for coming out to the first live chat of 2012! I'm sitting in the trailer on the job site writing to you. Timing is great--we're out of the house because the mould and asbestos remediation is doing their job.

Most people don’t realize that maintaining outdoor structures, like decks, porches, garages and sheds is important. Many people think that these kinds of structures are replaceable, so if they get some wear and tear it’s not a big deal; or they don’t need to be maintained since they are outside anyway. But proper maintenance on these structures is crucial to increasing and maintaining your property value, as well as protecting whatever is stored inside or on top of them. #TipTuesday
