Furnace and Heating Basics
The best heating system is one you never have to think about--when you want your house warm, it’s warm. But things don’t always work out that way. Instead, you wake up in the winter, and your house is cold, and that’s when you’re thinking about your heating system.
Heating systems can be pretty sophisticated, but the basics are fairly straightforward.
The heat source in a house is part of what’s called the mechanical system. Mechanicals include everything that can be grouped under HVAC systems – heating, ventilation and air conditioning. So the guy who fixes your heating system might be known as a heating contractor, a mechanical contractor or an HVAC contractor.
Let’s just talk about heat.
