EP1001: Additional Grief

Dave and Melanie spent $38,000 on a kitchen addition and back deck. Shortly after the job fails to pass the city inspection, the shoddy stucco finish begins to crumble and the contractor won't return calls. General contractor Mike Holmes steps in and gives the addition and back deck a face-lift.

EP1002: Soggy Sorority

The roof at the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority house is leaking. Many contractors have tried and failed to fix it. General contractor Mike Holmes supervises an all-new flat roof installation, builds a new roof-top deck and learns all about sorority life in the process.

EP1003: Botched Basement

Geoff and Lorraine hired a contractor to lower their basement. When the basement begins to leak after just two weeks and with the contractor nowhere to be found, they turn to general contractor Mike Holmes who installs an interior weeping tile system and fixes a dangerous electrical mess.

Part 2: Crappy CappingPaul and Donna hired a roofer friend to install 13 new windows. After a quick job, they are left with sloppy capping and drafts in the house. General contractor Mike Holmes pulls off the capping, insulates the windows and supervises a proper capping installation

EP1005: Cold Comfort

Angela had an upstairs addition job completed one year ago but the contractor failed to properly insulate between the addition and the house, resulting in a cold, unlivable bedroom last winter. With a court case pending, general contractor Mike Holmes tears open the ceiling, insulates properly and finds numerous other problems that need fixing.

EP1006: Flimsy Floor

Jim and Helen had a beautiful kitchen addition built on to their house by a contractor famous for his finishes. During their first party, the kitchen hardwood started to buckle. After a quick fix by the contractor fails to solve the problem, general contractor Mike Holmes secures the floor's joists, adds braces and reminds us that structure is just as important as design.

EP1007: Kitchen Catastrophe

Wayne and Gilda paid a contractor close to $20,000 to renovate their kitchen. After gutting the kitchen, the contractor stalls for six months with numerous lame excuses. General contractor Mike Holmes steps in to mediate and gives the home owners a brand new kitchen in just one week.

EP1008: Window Pain

Rasema and her mother have had four contractors in over the past several years to fix three very leaky windows, all to no avail. Mike Holmes arrives, restructures the roof and properly installs new windows and an eaves trough, putting an end to their water problems.

EP1009: Faulty Shower

Matilda and Stephen paid $40,000 to have their kitchen and two bathrooms renovated. When the tiles begin to crack and fall apart just one year later, general contractor Mike Holmes starts from scratch and finds a very dangerous surprise.

EP1010: Tiles & Tribulations

Bill and Anne bought a recycled wood-product tile for their kitchen, but after just one week, the tiles begin to bow and the grout starts to crack. After numerous arguments with the installer, they call general contractor Mike Holmes who installs a proper porcelain tile floor.

EP1011: Site Unseen

When general contractor Mike Holmes arrives to investigate a mysterious leak, he discovers Sandy's two-storey addition is sitting on a dirt foundation and is in serious danger of collapsing. Mike quickly secures the structure and pours a proper concrete foundation, saving the house.

EP1012: Sweet Home Abandoned

Alex and Gwen were excited about moving into their dream home. But with the house only 2/3rd's done and running four months behind, the contractor flees with almost $200,000 of their money. After selling their old home, the family of five is forced to live in a motor home on their front driveway. General contractor Mike Holmes arrives on site, supervises the house to completion and moves the family back into their finished home, just in time for Christmas.

EP1013: Whole House Disaster

Dave and Ana hired a contractor to put an addition on their kitchen and renovate their house. After a year and a half and over $100,000 paid out, the house is in ruins and the contractor has disappeared. General contractor Mike Holmes takes on the disaster and with many talented trades people, renovates their entire property and moves them back into their home.
