FROM THE ROAD
Today In Chicago
City: Chicago
Posted: Nov 26, 9:18pm
We're leaving Chicago now...what a beautiful city. The architecture is amazing--we walked around, saw some great buildings and art, had excellent steak--and the Thanksgiving Day parade. It's been a wild ride! Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the tour--and for subscribing to HOLMES magazine. I met so many nice people and felt so welcome in the US--I can't wait to come back on the second leg of our tour--this time to the southwest.

Pittsburgh Borders

Just leaving Pittsburgh -- it's a long drive to Chicago I hear. Today was the longest line ever--and we just couldn't cut it off. These people came some distance -- some as far as 12 hours away!! And hey--tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day! Shouldn't you be all home with family, getting ready for dinner tomorrow? Just joking -- it was so great to have all the people come out to meet and welcome us to Pittsburgh. I was given a Terrible Towel--to shake at football and hockey games, like the fans do. I'll be back!

The event today at Borders was great--one guy was in line at 4:30 in the morning!! So many good people--and so many sad stories about renovations gone wrong. Come on people--we've all got to come together and make this thing right!! It isn't that hard to do a job properly. And it's a lot easier--and cheaper--to do it right the first time.
In Times Square
City: New York

On The Bus To Charlotte
City: Charlotte
Posted: Nov 19, 10:53pm
We stopped at a great steakhouse in Greenville, SC for dinner -- starving!! The table sang Happy Birthday to me for fun -- and so loud that the restaurant manager sent over a dessert because it was the loudest singing they've ever had in the restaurant. But -- my birthday is in August!! Had a great meal getting ready for the grudge match in Tiger Woods golf -- me against the HOLMES magazine publisher. I found out he was spiking my drink so he'd win!
Atlanta Today
City: Atlanta
Posted: Nov 19, 9:30pm
Man, the line up in the store was long--I didn't expect that many people. People drove hours from states away!! That's crazy--I'm just a contractor! The people in Atlanta are great, so warm and welcoming. The city was packed with people coming in to see the Roger Waters concert last night (I saw him years ago--not saying how many). They were all happy and having a great time. One woman in line told me that she read a rumour that I'm supposed to be getting married on December 11, to a woman who has her own renovation show, and that she's expecting quadruplets!! I'm telling everyone right now--that is NOT true. Hilarious!

Nashville is amazing -- I can't believe how friendly everyone has been that I met today. Everyone was thanking me for coming down -- and I want to thank "Y'all" for having me!! First thing I see when I get off the bus was this little guy -- dressed just like me -- all full of attitude. He even had Make it Right tattoo'd on his arm -- in Sharpie. Man that kid is fearless! What a character. He should have his own show. More photos from today to come.. We're off to Atlanta!

Exploring Nashville
City: Nashville
Posted: Nov 17, 5:06pm
Spent a beautiful sunny afternoon walking around. Went along Broadway and into Ernest Tubbs record store--man the history on these walls! There's a picture of Patsy Cline, taken just before she got on thatplane. I love her voice. Had my fortune told by Elvis--the King! Cannot believe the photos I'm seeing of the floods last May--this city has come a long way. But I do know there are a lot of homeowners still struggling and trying to restore the damage after the flood.Going to spend some time this evening listening to music and enjoying refreshments on Broadway--any suggestions?
